Which Publications Take Published Stories

Second life for well seasoned and popular stories

I convinced my friend to join Medium a couple of weeks ago.

He spent the first week reading and getting to know the platform. And then composed a 10 minute story about a two month relationship that didn’t work out.

He published the story and shortly later he got the not shared distribution message, but not the curation jail message. It’s good to see that new people still get a chance to be curated. I warned him not to write about Medium, explicit material and to follow the curation guidelines during these first couple stories.

So the story wasn’t curated and he found a relationship publication and sent them an email as prescribed in their submission guidelines. Even though the submission guidelines said they could take published stories in rare cases, the reply was that they didn’t take published stories at all.

He was a little disheartened as the story had 0 views, had been published less than 24 hours and had already been rejected for being published.

A day later it had no views still. I informed him this is where followers come into play.

He was unaware that publishing your own story right away prevented you from being accepted to most…
